God has called, prepared, and gifted me to walk along side pastors and key Christian influencers as a catalytic, redemptive agent of change. A Christ-follower for more than 30 years, I coach from a deep and rich life experience, replete with sorrows and successes, setbacks and surprises, the miraculous and the mundane.
I came to faith in Christ while earning an MBA at Harvard University. While there, I received a clear call to ministry and an equally clear sense that ministry would come later in life. For the next 20 years, I worked in management roles in the electronics (my BSEE is from Purdue) and financial services industries, eventually running an investment business in Indiana and California.
During the latter part of my business career, I was also a pastor, helping plant a Vineyard Church in the Midwest. While planting this church, God made it clear that my principal role is to walk alongside senior pastors, strengthening them as leaders of change.
In the mid-1990’s, Annie, our kids, and I moved to Southern California where I received an M. Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary.
While there, it was my privilege to be mentored, taught, and to minister with Dr. J. Robert Clinton, an expert in the field of Christian Leadership Development. Employing these understandings, I served as a pastor on the staff of a dynamic, fast-growing Vineyard church for six years, functioning primarily in lay leadership and staff development.
Since 2000 I’ve served as a leadership coach and consultant to pastors and their churches with Church Resource Ministries. In this time I’ve coached, trained, mentored, and consulted with hundreds of pastors, denominational executives, church leaders, and boards in more than 20 Christian denominations.
